The annual Floyds Fork Creek Sweep is this weekend. Come out for a great time cleaning up our Parklands; all while canoeing down the peaceful and beautiful Floyds Fork. Cookie Dough and St. Patrick's Day Parade

Get ready to grab some dough! Louisville is getting its own NoBaked Cookie Dough Shop located on Blankenbaker Pkwy, and its Grand Opening is this Saturday at noon. They will have nine different flavors, including vegan options. So grab your green, and check out the latest new dessert trend before the infamous St. Patty’s Day Parade, which starts at three. Puppy Bowl

More excited about the Puppy Bowl than the Super Bowl? Come down to Copper and Kings on Sunday, February 4th and help support the Kentucky Humane Society with the Puppy Bowl Watch Party! Doors open at 2 PM, and the Puppy Bowl will stream from 3-5 PM. There will be local pet shop vendors, and food and drink available for purchase from Butchertown Pizza Hall. Please remember no outside dogs will be allowed inside as this is an adoption event, and there will be shelter animals present. Come on down, have some fun, and maybe even find a new furbaby to love!

Upcoming Openings in Louisville

  1. Against The Grain - the second location for the company, planning on opening in the Schnitzelburg area. 
  2. Bluegrass Brewing Co. - plans are to reopen in its original Theater Square location. 
  3. Bob’s Steak & Chop House. - one of the two Texas-based restaurants coming to the Omni. 
  4. The Champagnery. - a champagne bar coming to Frankfort Avenue. 
  5. Daddy Rich's - the pop-up restaurant that previously operated out of Chef Space, a kitchen incubator in Russell, will soon have a permanent location in Old Louisville.
  6. Delfino’s - From the hospitality group, CT Restaurant Partners, has plans to open in the Valley Station area. 
  7. El Camino - the beloved Mexican joint is expected make a second go in the Germantown side of Goss Avenue.
  8. El Taco Luchador - after a successful second restaurant opening in 2017, is full steam ahead with a J-town location expected to open in the spring. 
  9. Falls City Brewing Company - moving locations to NuLu
  10. Farm to Fork - a catering company which recently moved to the Portland area and has plans to open a small cafe.

The Jazz and Heritage festival is an event spanning several days featuring a diversity of music, food, dancing, and other great events. Performers and artists from around the world will find themselves right here in Louisville to share their craft.

Musicians and dancers from Cuba, Sweden, Venezuela, and Spain will be demonstrating and sharing their culture at the event. Several pop-up events by artists will be occurring at various businesses and locations along Frankfort Avenue, including performances, workshops, and film showings.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party in Downtown Louisville

Excitement is growing in Louisville as a rare celestial event, a Solar Eclipse, will be viewable from the city this Monday. Many locations in the city have sold out of the protective viewing glasses, but this event provides them for free to attendees in a limited quantity.

The event will be held on the third-floor observation deck at Copper & Kings, complete with a cash bar and drink specials.

Copper & Kings will also be hosting tours of the distillery that will last an hour long. The price of these tours is listed at $15.

The Kentucky State Fair Returns!

What: The Kentucky State Fair

For 10 days this August the Kentucky State Fair returns for another year in Louisville. The fair is a great collection of events, performances, food, and all things Kentucky.

One of the great events that come with admission include the South Wing Shops, with over 350 booths selling crafts, jewelry, food, and memorabilia. Another fantastic event included with your ticket is an intense high-wire  show presented by the Flying Wallendas.

Another highlight of the Kentucky State Fair are all of the competitions that take place. Blue-ribbons will be awarded to winners in all categories from livestock to homebrewed beer.

Admission to the event is $7 per person if purchased before August 16th, and $10 if purchased after. Parking for the Exposition Center is $5.

Four Roses BBQ Festival

The Louisville Blues, Brews, and BBQ festival returns with a new lineup of great bands, and a wide selection of delicious foods. The festival is a two-day event with right next to the Louisville waterfront at Water Tower Park.

This event will feature a multitude of bands over Friday and Saturday, including The Saints, Ghost Town Blues Bands, and Frank Bang & The Cook County Kings. The musical performances start at 5 on Friday and 4:15 on Saturday.

The festival features a wide variety of mouth-watering eating options, so come hungry. Everything from pulled pork, ribs, chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, ribbon fires, and funnel cakes will be made hot and fresh. To help you cool off, there will be delicious ice-cold lemonade, beers, and featured cocktails such as Sailor Jerry Rum.

Summer Fun Days

The Louisville Nature center hosts many events and holds many summer camps, and the Summer Fun Days are a great way for kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade to check out the center.

The day is split into two events: Wild Humans and Sense of the Wild. Wild Humans focuses on human and animal movements focusing on many different types of animal habitats, while sense of the wild sensory exploration is used to enjoy and appreciate nature.

Both events are scheduled to last for 2 hours each, and include a trip to the bird blind and a hike on the red maple trail.
